Things that are good: My flatmate* and I celebrate the hallowed tradition of Muffin Monday.** I have fresh raspberry/strawberry/banana muffins. With chocolate.

Things that are bad: I have had a headache for the last week. It isn't horrible- it's not debilitating or anything, but ugh. A whole week! Nothing makes it better! (On the upside, nothing makes it worse, either.) I'm not usually a worst-case-scenario-ist, or a hypochondriac, but guys, I'm pretty sure I have an aneurysm. (I totally don't have an aneurysm.) I actually went to a doctor about it on Friday, but the drugs he gave me were so bad. Oh man, I am never taking drugs ever again. ESPECIALLY if they come with a prescription.

*See, because we do not share a ROOM, I feel that "roommate" is the wrong term. "House partner" just sounds weird, and "leasemate" ... Actually, I kind of like leasemate.

** Throwaway line from a TV show that has become a thing we celebrate with baked goods? Come on now. This is why Amelia is the best leasemate EVER.

I ALWAYS think I'm having an aneurysm, too. :) A whole week, though! Did you offend the caffeine gods? Perhaps you're eating something new to which you are unknowingly deathly allergic? Is it the air? Something chemical in your house? Too much mold?

A week! That's a long time for a headache. Maybe you're just sensitive to weather fronts or something and there's a big one coming.

See! The aneurysm fear! It's universal.

Now I have decided that I have diabetes (Vague symptoms! Thirst! WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE?) but that also seems vastly unlikely; as I am really old to have type one, and completely the wrong shape to have type two.

I do not drink caffeine! I also avoid chocolate too. (I know, right? Reason number seven-hundred and thirty-twelve that I am the resident weirdo of medical school.) Basically, I am going to get my blood-sugar tested tomorrow, and when that comes back normal, I will begin my next ridiculous heath fear. (Possibly it will be EYEBALL CANCER!)

I was just thinking, EYES. :) We're on the same hypochondriac page. Do you wear glasses? Maybe you need a new prescription?

Lack of sleep?

You didn't have green tea, did you? I know, you said you avoid caffeine, but some people don't realize how caffeinated that stuff is. I swear it affects me worse than coffee-possibly because my body is already saturated with coffee.

And then...there is the sudden onset wheat allergy. IT CAN HAPPEN! If all else fails, try going off wheat for a few weeks.

lol, I'm sorry, I should be reassuring you, not making it worse. This is exactly the sort of interesting problem my brain likes, and I do love to experiment on myself. Next time I get a headache I will have to share my problem solving. But with me, it's usually that I've offended the caffeine gods. I try really hard to get off the stuff, but I'm a real addict...I keep crawling back. These days I'm down to one half-caffeinated small mug in the morning and I'm almost ready to take the jump to tea again. From there, I jump to green tea, then to herbal and I'll see how long I can stay off this time.

Maybe it's muscles seizing up. I wonder if a massage would cure you. If nothing else, you deserve one, after a week with a headache! Ouch.

might be a good idea to see a chiropractor and see if your neck needs adjustment. that can definitely cause lasting headaches! or get a massage. that's always a good idea, whether you need it or not!

i hope you're feeling better soon!
