Do you ever have a conversation with someone and walk away feeling a little bemused because they've explained something that you didn't understand about yourself? If so, you totally get what I'm feeling at the moment, because, whoah. I mean, really. One of the women I work with looked over at me today and said: "You were a gymnast, weren't you? I can tell 'cause when something's about to go wrong, you just keep pushing harder."
Holy COW.
I bounce off a lot of doorways, bash my knees into more tables, hurl my elbows into handy walls and when I trip, I fly. I thought it was my inner hockey player going for the full body check, but this makes way more sense. Of course I keep pushing, because if I didn't push, I'd be in the hospital. Why didn't I get that before?
Right now, I have ugly, purple bruises on both my hands. I pinched the of my index finger in a pair of pliers; the bruise wraps around my finger like a bandage. Ironic. On the back of my right hand between my index finger and thumb is a lump it hurts to breathe on. I didn't know you could get a goose-egg on your hand, but evidently. They hurt more than I am comfortable admitting, but at least I get why now.
