No, really, I'm as surprised as you are. I wasn't aware Jamaica was a Peace Corps country either. (Though, when you get right to it, I'm not definitively sure I can name six current Peace Corps countries. I mean, we don't go to Cuba any more, right?)
The point is: I leave the country on July sixth, for two years and assorted months. When I get to Jamaica, I'm going to be doing work as an HIV/AIDS educator- teaching kids to teach other kids how (and why) not to get HIV.
Oh man. Good work, good country, excellent timing. SO. I don't know how many of you have been harboring dreams of a Caribbean vacation - and this will fail at many of the glamorous aspects of Caribbean vacations, promising very few drinks with umbrellas in them - but. If you'd like to come to Jamaica in the next two years, I would be thrilled to host you.
