Dec. 9th, 2002 11:19 amLast night, I sat up wrong and now, I am deaf in my left ear. I thought it would just pop, the way these things happen. But now it's been about 16 hours, and all I can hear is a ringing buzz. It's that swimmer's ear sort of feeling, that there's a drop of water lodged at my ear drum and the pressure is aggravating.
It doesn't hurt unless I swallow, and although I'm sure I should just go over to the student health center, I have a long standing distrust of doctors. They will poke me and prod me and tell me that my hands are falling apart, I should be wearing my braces, I need to gain five pounds, but neglect to tell me anything remotely pertaining to this new hearing loss. (I have had a plethora of wonderful doctors who I love and consider friends and family. Whence this distrust?)
The countdown to the Chemistry final is 43 hours. Now you know.
