It seems like a logical progression that I would be drawn (ha.) to any art I can get my grubby little hands on in galleries, museums, art classes, libraries, graphic novels, and web comics. For those of you not in the know, I am a webcomic dork. The variety of both style and story is boggling and for the most part, they’re free.
It didn't really hit me until I realized that somehow I'd progressed to having daily folders of pretty links to check. I was sitting there, happily clicking away on the "Monday" folder, when it hit me that I was spending faaaaar too much time looking at these stories online. (Yes, even with the Ethernet.)
So today, instead of going to work, which I ought, or doing my homework, which I really ought, I am culling the lookable files. It makes me a little sad to stop reading some of them. Most are comics that I invested hours in reading archives over a 28.6 modem, some I've had around for years, but lots of these I find myself no longer caring about. With so many options, I'm no longer going to put up with bad art or stupid plot lines.
( Those that didn't make the cut )
( Those that did. )
I notice making the list, that my tastes have moved from the indiscriminate to the intelli. I don't understand the half the stories on keeper list, but it doesn't matter, because the ambiente is strong enough that it doesn't need logic.
I wonder if I had a point writing this.
