aintbroke: (grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr)
Let us begin the telling of the worst day I’ve had in conscious memory. Sucky. )
aintbroke: (Er...no...Not a self portrait as a male)
For my birthday, nineteen things about myself.

  • I am perversely proud of the fact that I can trace all sides of my family out of America in less than three generations.
  • I like the colors blue, green, grey, and orange. All-at-once-together.
  • My name means "pure heart" and it's always annoyed me that I don't really know what this is supposed to allude to.
  • It is my goal to grow up and be as cool as my parents. I hope I'm up to it.
  • I have never broken a bone. I have however, fractured my elbow opening a door.
  • I have very little patience with anyone, least of all myself.
  • Rock climbing is the most addictive stuff on the planet. Ten years and I still haven’t kicked the habit.
  • I don't tell people things unless they ask. How am I supposed to know they care?
  • Good books break my heart. I hate this.
  • I have an idea that I think could be a (BIG FREEEKING HUGE) step to curing both cancer and AIDS. However, CDC will not let me into their labs. (I have asked.)
  • I officially stopped growing older at eleven. As of today, I have turned eleven nine times.
  • I think this world would be a better place without compulsory schooling.
  • Currently I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico (elevation 5352ft). Excluding the first six months of my life when I lived on the Canadian border, and the year I lived on a Caribbean beach at age one, this is the farthest north, and lowest elevation I have ever lived at.
  • I'm a raving dyslexic.
  • I am both young and stupid, but this doesn't bother me because I know they are temporary conditions.
  • I auditioned for the top gymnastics coach in the country once, and almost made his squad. (This is quite the story actually. Maybe I'll write it out sometime)
  • I want my name to be whispered with respect at the meetings of the Kasbah of Complete Dorks (Order of the Grape).
  • I'm not a practicing Buddhist (anymore), but I do sit zazen every day.
  • I am still not sure if I'm a scientist who loves art, or an artist who loves science. Being as I'm eleven-the-ninth today, I don't know that I mind. I'll figure it all out in time.

  • Now, I quote Billy Collins at you, because it’s my birthday, and I can get away with such foppish sentimentalism.
    On Turning Ten )
    aintbroke: (More than Yesterday)
It's been a very long day, and I'm going to collapse in a minute, but I'd like to thank people for their birthday wishes. Thanks. It rescued a stressful day to come home and have messages, emails, lj posts and comments full of smiles.

The longer I live with my room mate, the more I love her. She got me a brilliantly dorky thing, and cheered for me when I got the coolest gift ever..

Today, when I checked my mail, I got a skinny little letter from one of the art schools I applied to. It made me a little sad, because small letters mean you didn't get in. But I did.

I got into Sheridan. And, not only did I get in, I got a nice scholarship. Wheee!
