(no subject)
Jul. 18th, 2006 10:39 amHave arrived, in Jamaica. Kind of wacky, I know.
I promise a better post (SOON COME, MON. SOON COME.) as at the moment I'm a little grouchy, and that's not really fair to anyone.
What I can say, is that it's not nearly so hot and humid as I feared (I may have had a few nightmares on the subject) and the people are universally willing to laugh at my attempts to speak Patios (Patwa).
I'm really writing, as I tend to do, for advice. Mogget, my computer of longstanding feud has actually died. (Dude, I know. I'm as shocked as you are.) The video card has continued it's downward trend to unusability, and as I am living in a country with more or less gaurenteed electricity (power and water have been on the fritz the last few days. but I hear that's not normal), I would like to have a laptop of my own to poke at, with sticks.
I've had a Toshiba Satelite, and for all my complaining, it was absolutely splendid to me. My requests are fairly simple- I don't game, I do Photoshop, I have a portable hard-drive full of media I'd like to use at some point. I am open to Mac purchasing advice, I am a longstanding user of Windows. I'd rather have something factory spec than custom built, as tech support is hard to come by here (Same goes for Linux, which I understand is good, but am to lazy to use myself.)
So tell me things! How are you? I promise to high heaven I will post more interesting things tomorrow!
