Jun. 14th, 2007 12:24 pmI have found what appears to be (from the, you know, five paragraph job posting) the coolest job in the entire universe. (By "coolest" of course I mean, "fun and exciting for me! I think!")
I'm now kind of stymied at this part of actually applying for it.
I've been working since I turned fourteen, which gives me nearly ten years of experience in showing up and talking people into hiring me, but this whole "cover letter" and "CV" nonsense- I do not approve. I guess I knew, in the back of my head, that knowing someone who needed help with something I am interested in was probably not a very long term strategy for employment, but it was a fantastic run while it lasted.
Now I am trying to write a formal cover letter. So far it says "Hi! I think you're super awesome! I have very little relevant experience, but you should totally trust me! I would be really good at this! *muppet arms* I am qualified by virtue of youth and enthusiasm! Let's talk!"
This is probably not the best letter to send.
I get that, but this kind of writing is my least favorite thing in the universe, so instead of writing a cover letter and updating my formal CV I am honing my psychic powers to the nth degree willing the Exploratorium to call me.
Updates on my newfound Heros-like talents as warrant.
