In my world, there are only two answers to the question "How was your weekend?": *shrug* and "THIS WEEKEND, I DIDN'T DIE, ISN'T THAT AWESOME?" The last two weekends, despite surviving the largest patch of poison ivy in the southwest and Mike jumping over a rattlesnake, were on the *shurg* side of things. Where is my end-of-summer fear for my life? It seems like we're letting all the really important family traditions slide.

In other news, Olympics! I don't understand how people can devote decades of their lives to training and competing, but it's fun to watch. Also: I really, really like saying "Thorpedo."
On the other hand, the women's gymnastics are making me sick to my stomach. Who's bright idea was it to put Marta Karolyi in charge of the American team? (Can we kill them?)

I guess this means it's time to leave the television and pack.
