For every knitting project, there are three requisites.
One: Needles.
Two: Yarn.
Three: Audiobooks.
Seriously, knitting is the most mind-numbingly boring thing on the planet. You have to give your total visual concentration to something but it's in no way difficult, so you're both concentrating and bored. It's a lot like Cell Bio. However, the library is half an hour away by bus, and I am physically incapable of having any visit to the library last less than five hours. Instead of opening myself up to that level of distraction, I've been listening to the archives of This American Life online. It makes me feel like I'm on the cutting edge of pop-anthropology. Yes, I feel both cutting edge and unspeakably old school. I am knitting my own clothing while learning all about the effects of testosterone on the body. (After listening to that program, I can't figure out if I have no testosterone at all, or if I am Ms Testosterone 6240.)

For those of you who harbor a burning interest in what I'm knitting, the pattern is here. It's going much faster than I expected, but that's not really saying a whole lot, seeing as I fully expected to be working on this on my twenty eighth birthday. As of this writing, I am working on the left arm hole.

But really, why I am updating is that Thanksgiving is coming up. That means it's getting to be the time for the sending of cards. Do any of you out there want a random card? I'm pretty sure you do. And none of this shyness excuse! I want to send one to each and every one of you, really, truly, honestly.
