Nov. 28th, 2003 05:32 pmI was going to post something suitably seasonal, saying that I was thankful for another years worth of family and friends and acquaintances who make my life both amusing and dumb. But then, studying my Organic Chemistry, I heard a new track come on my mp3 player, and oh. OH. I had forgotten how much I love Wes Montgomery. I love him, love him, love him so.
We have a tape of his at home, and my sole memory of my eighth birthday is of sitting in Big Blue, the aptly named car, listening to "Windy" bopping along and knowing that all was right with the world.
So this year, I am thankful for Wes, and his crazy jazz guitar playing. Alleluia, man.
(Incidentally, I bought my first CD of his the day before the thirtieth anniversary of his death. Coincidence? I think not.)
