Mogget is now connected to the net once more. Oh, life truly is good. I saw The Two Towers, and despite my total lack of spoilers, I cut my thoughts
They took him and murdered him, chopped him into small pieces and put them back together and expected us to believe it was Faramir.
I freely admit my love of the first movie. Liberties were taken, and they cut Bombadil but I forgave them and moved on. I understand that sometimes plots must be fiddled with in the name of the grand scheme, but there was no cause for that. Why, Peter Jackson, why have you forsaken us so? Faramir! *wails*
Um... Other than that, I liked it mostly. I still have my niggling niggles, but I'll overlook the miscasting of Eowyn and the rewriting of the Ents. But FARAMIR? WHENCE AND WHYFOR?
Ooo, but the soundtrack- it was lovely. Indeed it was.
I have taken up the trumpet again. (Not that I ever really played it before, mind you.) Between me and my horn, and little sister with the canary yellow drums, I feel kind of sorry for my parents. But then not, because they bring it on themselves.
I have finished the shopping part of gift finding. Now I can get back to the making. My family made Christmas cards by the trillion, and sent them out to the most random collection of people. Old friends, family, some of the people my dad worked with this summer, my best friends niece (But not her mother or my best friend or his mother, all of whom we are close to, and live outside the requisite radius for card sending.)
I went to a high school basketball game this evening- it's never fun to see a team get slaughtered. When we left at halftime, our team was down two to one. It did really make me miss playing organized sports though... it seems like ages since I glared someone down over a soccer ball or smashed a tennis ball down someones throat. (Why yes, I am a vicious, competitive little bugger.) I'll get back into one or the other as soon as the snow's gone. I have to take advantage of the snow while it's here.
I need new icons. I'm sick of mine already.

Date: 2002-12-25 10:22 am (UTC)Uhm, Peter Jackson took quite a few "liberties" with the Two Towers. Aragorn falls off a cliff? Why? And why didn't the Ents come to the rescue at Helms Deep? I thought that was a great point in the book, having the sun rising over a forest that wasn't there the night before. I am going to tweeze on hair out of Peter Jackson's beard for every part of teh story he made up.
